The chemical-physical approach enables the removal of non-biodegradable pollutants that are difficult to separate using biological or membrane technologies, making it ideally suited to complex sectors such as electroplating, chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, waste treatment, landfill sites and many other industrial sectors. <\/p>\n<p>Chemical-physical processes can be configured for continuous or batch operation, depending on the volume, variability of the effluent and treatment objectives. Continuous solutions are suitable for homogeneous effluents with constant flow rates, whilst batch treatment is ideal for intermittent effluents or those with variable characteristics, allowing for precise and controlled management of each individual batch.<br \/>\nAmong the most common and established treatments is cyanide removal, which is necessary to neutralise cyanides present in effluents from electroplating or metalworking processes. The process, typically a two-stage procedure (oxidation followed by neutralisation), is precisely controlled to ensure the complete removal of cyanide compounds, whilst maintaining parameters within regulatory limits.  <\/p>\n<p>Dechromation is another critical treatment, particularly effective at removing hexavalent chromium, which is highly toxic and carcinogenic. The chemical process reduces chromium VI to chromium III, a less hazardous form that can be easily precipitated as hydroxide during subsequent stages of pH control and sedimentation. Here too, Uberplants Italia guarantees automation, safety and optimised reagent management.  <\/p>\n<p>The precipitation of heavy metals is one of the most common treatment methods and is used to remove lead, copper, zinc, nickel, cadmium, mercury and other metal ions present in industrial effluents. By precisely adjusting the pH and using hydroxides, sulphides or carbonates as precipitating agents, insoluble solids are formed which can be easily separated using sedimentation tanks, flotation units or filter presses.<br \/>\nAn increasingly important role is played by the reduction of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and TOC (Total Organic Carbon), which represent the organic load present in the effluent. Uberplants offers advanced physico-chemical solutions that include the use of oxidising reagents, heterogeneous adsorbents and selective resins to break down complex organic molecules, pharmaceutical residues, surfactants and micropollutants.  <\/p>\n<p>Heterogeneous adsorption, carried out using activated carbon or advanced selective materials, enables the targeted removal of pollutants that are difficult to treat using precipitation or coagulation processes alone. This technology is often incorporated as a final or finishing stage to meet particularly stringent discharge limits. <\/p>\n<p>The processes of coagulation, precipitation and flocculation form the basis for the separation of suspended solids, colloids and micropollutants. By adding coagulants (such as iron or aluminium salts) and polyelectrolyte flocculants, easily settleable solid aggregates are formed, reducing turbidity and improving the efficiency of downstream treatments. Operating parameters (pH, dosages, retention times) are controlled automatically, ensuring maximum efficiency and low consumption.  <\/p>\n<p>Uberplants Italia systems are fully customisable, manufactured from stainless steel or corrosion-resistant plastics, and feature modular designs and advanced automation.
